Item description

1961 Mini Classic Base Morris Mini Cooper Engine 1098
1961 Morris Mini
Runs and drives. Great car to drive around in. I have owned the car for about 3 years. I will be as detailed with this listing as possible to make sure buyer knows as much as I do prior to purchasing. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll see that I can get you the answers. The car does have plenty of cosmetic imperfections, but it is an old car so you can expect that. Mechanically speaking it drives good. It could use a full restoration however I have driven car around town and it does great and catches a lot of attention!

Car just had its brakes redone. This included a new master cylinder, new brake drum cylinders on all wheels, new brake shoes on all wheels, new brake lines on the front. The front brakes have twin leading shoes. Wheels are 10" with Yokohama tires on them. There is one missing and one mismatched lug nuts. Tires look to be worn out however for the driving I have been doing they grip great.

Engine runs good and strong. Since I have owned car I have changed the oil regularly. It does have an oil leak like most old cars. When parked it might drip a few small drops (Never any puddles or anything major to cause oil level to drop). I have been told by previous owner that the engine is not original and has been upgraded to a 1098cc engine. There is a straight pipe exhaust on the car and it sounds great! I believe it is a stainless pipe and it doesn't make you deaf. The SU carburetors were tuned and oil has been kept in them. Transmission shifts smooth. Transmission is 4 speed manual. It does not over heat. I have used Redline coolant in it and it seems to do great, The fuel tank looks clean and doesn't look like it has any issues. The engine compartment does not have the cleanest look but everything seems to be in working order. There is a heater valve on the block to turn off the heater. The longest I have driven the car in one go was about 3 hours or 175 miles (It used just around 3 gallons of gas!). Speedometer does work but I believe it is off slightly. Mileage shows 66929 however this probably is not the total miles for the car.
